Ore Mobs

Ore Mobs are new mobs with ore on their head. If you kill them, they'll drop their ores. Every mob drops 2, except Diamond mobs, they drop 3. They spawn on stone, but they're very rare. The different kinds of Ore Mobs can be seen on the image to the right.

If you enter a mountains biome that's covered with stone, you'll be finding way less baby zombies, zombies with weapons or witches. That's because the ore mobs replace these. They do spawn on other blocks.

When there is a mob in the world that has one of the properties, an Ore Mob spawns on that spot. The mob with the properties dies. This is all possible with the /execute and the /summon command.

Bugs

  1. If the original mobs die, they will still drop their loot
  2. Baby Zombie Pigmen do not spawn in the nether as Ore Mobs, because there is no natural stone there

Spawns

Here's a list with spawns and properties for the determined Ore Mobs. Other entities do not turn into Ore Mobs.
